Job Opening: Flash Designer
Rochester, NY
Safelight Security is looking for a Junior Flash Designer to be a part of our rapidly growing team in Rochester, NY. Safelight creates training courses for information security and has deployed them to Fortune 500 companies all over the world. As a Junior Flash Animator, you will be actively involved in the development of these courses using the latest technology. Knowledge of Flash with 2 years of experience is a must. Actionscript, Javascript and PHP are not required but a plus. This position has high visibility and great opportunity to advance quickly in the company as we grow our team.
The Junior Flash Animator will build course content per requirements developed in collaboration with the rest of the content team. You will assist the successful completion of course development projects by participating throughout the development life cycle. The Junior Flash Animator will be actively involved in design and layout, testing, user rollout and support. You will learn about Learning Management Systems and how to develop programs in current standards. The successful candidate will have a strong motivation to learn and grow. The Junior Animator will report to the Development Manager and should be a highly motivated self-starter. We will push you to produce your best, but give you the tools and support needed to get there. Please include a link to your online portfolio with your application.
Responsibilities
- Have hands on skills in the latest Adobe Creative Suite (CS5) products
- Develop storyboards, create supporting documents
- Take direction regarding usability and user interface best practices
- Understanding of Web site design and usability concerns
- Review and understand business requirements
- Research software tools
- Effectively communicate activities and findings in oral and written formats
- Looking for solid conceptual and design skills
- Apply and refine company standards
Requirements
- 1-2 years experience with Flash Animation
- Knowledge of Flash with AS3 / AS2
- Javascript and PHP a plus
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- A strong desire to learn and grow
- Online portfolio
Education
We prefer candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree, however some of the best Designers we’ve ever met were self-taught.
